Check it out! Heather Hazen is still with us telling us what it’s like to produce games at PopCap! (Click here for Part 1 of our interview!)

BU: So how long did it take to make Peggle XBLA?

HH: To be honest, Peggle XBLA was started before I ever joined the company, so we’ve been in production for over two and a half years. We missed a lot of dates that we were gonna hit ‘cause we wanted to make sure that the game really felt like a good game on XBLA, and not just some port of the PC game, so we spent a lot of time tweaking the length of the aimer and fine-tuning the controls just to make sure that it really felt like it was native to the Xbox.

BU: I’ve heard about some kind of “Challenge the Masters” event. Can you tell me about that?

HH: Peggle Masters are putting on a game night on Peggle XBLA, we’re calling it “Game with the Peggle Masters,” so, each one of the Masters, all ten of them, are going to join us here in the PopCap offices…

BU: Wait a minute—I’m a Master!

HH: Yes, exactly! So you’re going to be here to join us in the PopCap office.

BU: Hooray!

HH: I guess I haven’t put that on your calender yet, Bjorn, I’m sorry. So, yeah, we’re just gonna invite anyone that’s on Xbox Live Arcade to challenge any one of the Peggle Masters, that’ll be for three hours starting at 4 Pacific on the 19th of March, that’s next Thursday, so we’re just gonna see if there’s anybody out there that might be able to take it to the Peggle Masters. I hope you’re practicing up.

BU: Well, I don’t usually worry too much about human opponents, but perhaps I will spend a little time preparing. It wouldn’t do to be defeated by some random chump, after all. Uh… so, finally, who is your favorite Peggle Master?

HH: You, of course, Bjorn!

BU: What a perfect answer! Thanks, Heather!
